The first time a woman is elected to a national office.

ORLANDO, Florida — Representatives at the 2019 General Council give back Assemblies of God Overall Secretary Donna L. Barrett and Assemblies of God World Missions Executive Director Greg Mundis to their poles for new four-year terms on Aug. 2.

In Orlando, Donna Barrett and Mundis, sanctioned as the lone aspirants for their spots by the General Presbytery, received awesome support in a yes or no preservation question put to minister representatives.

The voting manifests the first time a woman has been voted to a national office by a General Council vote in the 105-year past of the U.S.A.’s Assemblies of God.

Donna Barrett, 59, came into office on June 2018 by an election of the Executive Presbytery. She acknowledged a standing ovation after the conclusion announcement.

Saying she is humbled and grateful to be chosen to a four-year term, Donna Barrett distinguished she is a nontraditional administrative in that she is a woman and single. She acknowledged her predecessor James T. Bradford for making the change smooth, Ohio Ministry Network Superintendent John Wootton for provided that ministry breaks to her, and General Superintendent Doug Clay for taking a step of bravery in nominating her.

Barrett replaced Bradford, who submissive to give himself completely to pastoring Central Assembly of God in Missouri. Donna Barrett had been pastoring Rockside Church in Independence, Ohio, a bedroom community south of Cleveland, since establishing the congregation 16 years ago.

Her appointment has been widely indicated by many in the value. Barrett is the writer of the recently released book Leveling the Prayer Field: Helping Every Person Talk to God and hear from God

Mundis, 68, came into office in 2011, following the reticent L. John Bueno. As executive director of AGWM, Mundis delivers leadership for 2,747 AG missionaries and associates who attend 256 countries, and provinces.

After the appointment, Mundis thanked Clay, the rest of the Executive Leadership Team, the AGWM Executive Committee, and Sandie, his spouse of 49 years.

Mundis is a former student of Central Bible College and Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Greg and his spouse, Sandie, converted AG world ministers in Austria in 1980. In 1987, Mundis co-founded an international church, Vienna Christian Center, and assisted as pastor until becoming Central Europe director in 1991. He helped as the first AGWM Europe regional director starting in 1998.
