Saul
So dramatic was the change in Saul’s life that the Lord even changed his name. Saul the Pharisee became Paul the apostle. Saul’s conversion to Christianity has such far-reaching implications for the history of the church that it is the only event recorded three times in the book of Acts.
Obey Jesus:
- Instantly
- Completely
- Persistently
- THREE TRUTHS CHANGED SAUL’S LIFE FOREVER.
Saul was a lost sinner who needed to be saved. When God sent Ananias to Saul, Ananias challenged Saul. Saul was wrong about Jesus and about his spiritual condition.
- SAUL OBEYED JESUS INSTANTLY, COMPLETELY, AND PERSISTENTLY.
Saul followed Jesus instantly. When Saul met Jesus on the Damascus road, he had only one question.
Acts 22:10
10 “I asked, ‘What should I do, Lord?’
Saul also followed Jesus completely. Everything fades, when you see Jesus.
Saul followed Jesus persistently. For nearly twenty years. Paul traversed the Roman Empire. Tirelessly proclaiming the good news about Jesus. No level of persecution could shut him up or distract him from his mission.
God is calling you!
Not all of us are called to be preachers or missionaries, and not all of us will be called in a blinding light. But each of us was created to do something in God’s service.
Trotter says that for most of his adult life he was simply a common drunk. He became so depraved that when his little girl died. he stole the shoes she was to be buried in and pawned them for money to buy more drinks.
One night, however, Mel staggered into the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago and found Christ. Mel Trotter not only gave up alcohol but came to have a great passion for reaching men on skid row. So he opened a rescue mission in Grand Rapids,Michigan
God is calling you to serve Him.
