🕊️ Assemblies of God Adherents Gather in Orlando for 61st General Council

This week, the U.S. Assemblies of God convenes its 61st General Council at the Orange County Convention Center West in Orlando, Florida. As part of the world’s largest Pentecostal fellowship—with over 88 million members globally and more than 3 million in the U.S.—this biennial gathering brings together leaders, pastors, and congregants for a week of worship, connection, and decision-making.

🗳️ Business & Leadership Highlights

  • Official business sessions begin Wednesday, August 6, at 1:30 p.m. (Eastern), running through Friday, August 8.
  • Delegates—licensed and ordained AG ministers and one lay representative per congregation—will elect officers, review ministry reports, and vote on resolutions.
  • General Superintendent Doug Clay will open the Council with a keynote address on Wednesday morning.
  • Speakers also include Kristen Waggoner on Thursday, with a prayer and testimony service on Friday led by Doug Roberts, David Savage, and Becca Ketterling.

🌟 Pre-Council & Youth Events

  • Before the Council officially begins, attendees will gather Tuesday, August 5, for a one-day Influence Conference, featuring voices like Renea Brathwaite, Stephanie Nance, Jason Patterson, Jonathan Rivera, and Teng Vu.
  • At the same venue, students, parents, and sponsors are engaging in the National Youth Conference, filled with powerful services and the National Fine Arts Festival.
  • The week concludes with the Fine Arts presentations and awards Friday night, August 8, at 7:00 p.m.
