💔 Not Enough—and That’s Good New

Why your weakness is the doorway to God’s strength

There’s a quiet pressure many of us carry: the need to be enough. Enough for our families, our ministries, our responsibilities. We try to hold it all together, but sometimes—like I did in 2019—we fall apart. The pressure mounts, and despite our best efforts, we sink under the weight of trying to keep up.

I felt responsible. I felt like I had to be everything for everyone. But in that season, God reminded me: You’re not enough—and you don’t have to be.

📞 The Call That Changed Everything

Recently, one of my grown kids called me for advice. They’re married now, living their own lives, yet they still reach out. And I love it. I love being needed. I love being called on. It reminded me of something deeper—something divine.

God loves when we call on Him. He doesn’t just tolerate our neediness; He welcomes it.

“Call to me and I will answer you.” — Jeremiah 33:3
“Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you.” — Psalm 50:15
“The Lord is near to all who call on Him.” — Psalm 145:18
“When I am in distress, I call to you.” — Psalm 86:7
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” — Romans 10:13

🙌 The Gospel Truth: You’re Not Enough

Here’s the good news:
You’re not enough. You never will be.
But Jesus is. And He always will be.

You don’t have to carry the weight of your rebel child, your worst mistake, your financial failure, your diagnosis, your heartbreak. You don’t have to measure up to a number on a scale or a standard set by others. God’s power is bigger than your stress, your fears, your anxiety.

On your own, you are not enough.
But you are:

  • đź’– Loved
  • 🛟 Rescued
  • âś… Accepted
  • 🌟 Chosen
  • 🕊️ Forgiven
  • 🏠 Adopted
  • 🔓 Freed
  • đź’Ž Redeemed
  • 🔧 Restored
  • 🔄 Renewed

You can do all things—through Christ who strengthens you.

đź’¬ A Question for Reflection

In what area of your life are you relying on yourself instead of God?
What is God calling you to do about it?

Let that question linger. Let it lead you to surrender. Because the moment you stop trying to be enough is the moment you start depending on the One who is.
