Impact JBQ from Nixa, Missouri, emerged as champions of the 2025 Junior Bible Quiz National Festival, edging out Keepers of the Command (KC) from Garland, Texas, during the June 12–14 event held at Calvary Church (AG) in Naperville, Illinois.
Both teams advanced from the F-Yellow division, each posting an impressive 14-1 record in preliminary rounds. After entering the Level 1 championship bracket, Impact JBQ rose to the top with an 8-1 finish—their only loss dealt by KC, who ended with a 7-2 record.
JBQ is a discipleship program for children in Grades 1–6, designed to cultivate biblical literacy and Scripture memorization. Using the Bible Fact-Pak, quizzers compete by buzzing in first to answer one of 576 tiered questions covering key truths and verses.
Impact JBQ was guided by teen coaches Alyssa and Meghan Ramsey (ages 17 and 14), leading a dynamic trio of quizzers: Brianna Ramsey, Drew Johnson, and Drew Ramsey. Their focus, preparation, and Scripture knowledge paved the way to this national victory.
Rounding out the top five teams were:
- 🥉 Bible Crew, Faith Memorial Church, Sandusky, Ohio
- 🏅 Cedar Park Assembly of God, Bothell, Washington
- 🦁 Leaping Lions, Bellevue Neighborhood Church, Bellevue, Washington
“The quizzing has become very even across the country,” noted Todd Papendick, Great Lakes regional coordinator. “The difference between the top team and the 40th—or even the 70th and top 10—is minimal. These kids know God’s Word.”
Out of 79 participating teams, the top five individual scorers were also honored:
- Michelle Essegbey – Whiteland, IN (2,885 pts)
- Drew Ramsey – Nixa, MO (2,760 pts)
- Jayden Ramesh – Garland, TX (2,735 pts)
- Levi Mank – Oak Creek, WI (2,660 pts)
- Jared Naveen – Burnsville, MN (2,645 pts)
A special BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) offering raised over $5,000 to help translate children’s Bibles for kids in Papua New Guinea—igniting missions awareness among young hearts. Pastor Barry Jorris and BGMC Director David Alexieff inspired excitement and engagement through storytelling and BGMC Trading Cards.
Looking ahead, the 2026 JBQ National Festival is set for its first-ever East Coast venue—Word of Life Assembly of God, Springfield, Virginia, on June 11–13.
