Des Moines church follows God’s leading to remain in the heart of the city and establish a dream center to serve local residents.
Reach Church in Des Moines, originally known as First Assembly of God, held 60 acres of unused land for over 20 years, intending future expansion. In 2019, under new lead pastor Cullen Allen, the leadership committed to prayer and discernment. They felt unified in God’s direction: rather than building a new campus, they were called to stay in the city and serve Des Moines. They sold the land and renovated their existing building.
The vision became rooted in Amos 9:13–15, emphasizing restoration and acceleration. In 2023, Reach Church rebranded and began transforming the facility into a weekday ministry hub. Cullen ensured the best parts of the building were set aside for community use.
By late 2024, they launched Dream Center Des Moines—a nonprofit outreach arm—offering services such as a food pantry, medical clinic, prayer ministry, and counseling. Despite rapid growth, both Reach Church and the Dream Center remain debt free, united in their mission to impact the city with God’s love and practical support.
